Hands held her tight, and she could feel the tears running down her pale cheeks. How on earth had she gotten herself into such a big mess, she had no idea but she needed someone to save her. And quick. A hand hit her across the face and teeth bit into her neck but it didn't make a change. She screamed and begged and every action was repeating themselves. As if they were endless.
Lara gasped. Another nightmare. It seemed that lately, she would dream about the same thing. Over and over again like a stratched tape. The brunette sat up straight on her bed, breathing heavily in the process and she could feel small spots on her face slightly wet. As she touched them with her hand, the youngest Rayne realized that she had in fact been crying. Great. A sigh escaped her lips as she threw her covers off her and tied her messy hair in a pony tail before rushing down the steps, making her way to the kitchen. It was around 3 AM, no earlier than that and the house was dead quiet. Both her mother and father were out of town leaving her siblings to take care of her. Deep down, she knew how much of a pain she had been lately, having stopped eating again. However, no-one could blame her.
Reaching for the cabinet, the brunette grabbed a glass and made her way over to the water tap, pouring some liquid into her glass before taking a sip of it. The water was still running and somehow, she found the sound of it rather comfortable. It was the one thing Lara did enjoy - swimming and water. It was like her element, the one thing she could relate with in a way. It made her feel complete and the brunette wouldn't change it for anything in the world. A small smile appeared on her features when the thought of swimming came to mind and she wondered if it was too early or late even to go swimming. Debating it for a few seconds, Lara decided that it was in fact a little too early and she'd probably get shouted at or something of the sort.
When she was done drinking her water, Lara shut the tap off and placed her glass on the counter as silent as she could muster. However, her plan had backfired as she heard a noise from behind and the brunette immediatly turned, sighing in relief once she saw Osiris standing in front of her. "You scared me." She told him in a whisper, hoping that Savannah wasn't up either. Placing her hands on her lips, the youngest raised an eyebrow tilting her head to the side. "Why are you up?"

Osiris was in his bedroom awake, he was lying on the bed staring at the ceiling. He had been avoiding Savannah since that night. He wasn't sure why though, he liked her, he was, in fact, in love with her but he knew how was it was what they were doing and they both were drunk and it was a mistake. A mistake he wasn't about to repeat if it was in his hands. He looked at the door knowing Savannah was sleeping in the bedroom in front of him. A bit far his other sister, Lara, was sleeping, not as pacefully as Savannah.
He heard a cry, his sisters was having another nightmare, something quite normal on her. He sighed and waited to see if she will scream some more, she didn't. But then he heard footsteps in the stairs and he knew she was going to the kitchen. He had to go and finally ask her what was going on with her lately and why she was having nightmares. He hadn't want to ask her knowing it was better to give her the space if she didn't tell them about it, but she was waking up in the middle of the night screaming and he could heard he across the corridor.
So he got up and went downstairs and there she was, in the kitchen, having a glass of water. He knew how much she liked the water, something he had never understand to be honest but it was her choice and when she wanted to relax he always used the pool to get things out of her mind. It was too late for that so she went to the kitchen looking for something to do. She turned jumping when she saw him at the door. He went to the kitchen table without speaking and took a chair. She asked him what he was doing down there, as if he couldn't ask her the same question. I hear you scream from across the corridor and hear your footsteps He took another glass of water and watched at her intently What is going out lately with the nightmares and the screams?
No, he wasn't about to sugar coat things now that he had finally decided to ask her about what was going on. He needed to know what was going with her sister, he was the older brother, he had to take care of them because he loved them but he wasn't one of showing it so Lara could tell she was lucky because he was asking her about what was going on with her. The thing was, he didn't like to get into others people lives even if they were his sisters. I heard you, you've been screaming all nights and I want to know what's happening

It wasn't something that Lara had control over: all the crying and the screaming at night but it wasn't any of her sibling's businesses anyway. It had surprised her the fact that Osiris had asked her what was going on and the brunette couldn't help but to stare at him in utter disbelief. Was he serious? Maybe her earing was failing her. Just failing her. It had to be it. Her older brother wasn't someone that seemed to care so why would he start now? Raising an eyebrow, Lara leaned against the counter behind her while crossing her arms over her chest. Brown eyes watched him carefully as he sat in front of her. "Oh." She said with ease, avoiding any possible eye contact for a few seconds before turning to stare at her brother again.
"It was nothing. I simply saw a spider. In fact, I think my room is full of them. Hence why the screaming but once it is checked, everything will go back to normal." Her teeth sunk into her bottom lip as she lied, glancing down at the floor for a few moments. In fact, her feet seemed to be the most important thing in the world at that moment until she heard her brother's voice again. He wasn't going to give up, was he? Obviously, Osiris was able to tell whether she was lying or not but Lara didn't want to tell the truth. In fact, she thought that really he had to stay out of it. He wasn't like he mentioned anything when it had happened a year ago or when she had stopped eating. Or even when she had stopped eating a few days ago. It didn't matter to her siblings then so why would it matter now?
Tilting her head to the side, Lara blinked a couple of times before moving to sit opposite Osiris, facing him. Brown eyes examined her brother for a few moments before she raised an eyebrow in curiosity. "I don't get it." A confused expression was clear on her features. "You don't care, so why now? And don't try to act like brother of the year, demanding things out of me. Whatever happened, it does not concern you." Lara sighed. She really wanted to tell him but she didn't feel comfortable enough with the whole situation even if she knew that before she returned to bed, Osiris would find out and probably freak out. And probably tell Savannah what happened who would tell her parents. Which wasn't something she wanted. Crossing her arms over her chest, Lara took a deep breath before glancing down at the table, biting her lip in the process. Why did it have to be so confusing?

Osiris didn't even flinch at his sisters words. He knew he wasn't the kind of brother she wanted to have but it was what she had got anyway and she will have to deal it wanted ot not. Don't think I believed that one He shrugged and watched her again sipping of his glass of water. It wasn't as if he didn't care it wa he wasn't one of showing it up as much. He was a mystery, he was quiet and he respected everyone spaces, he was respecting his sister one, though he didn't like it when she stop eating he knew if she was decided to do something like that he wouldn't be able to stop her, like he hadn't been able to stop Savannah.
I know something had been going on lately He said and shrugged again when she asked him about caring. I'm not trying to be the brother of the year and I don't want to be as much He sipped again from his glass lifting his eyes to stare at her with all the power of his penetrating eyes. He knew people always felt by his eyes when he wanted to know something or do something so he used them to get what he wanted when people won't help. You are my sister He said simply It's my business Maybe it had to do something with the not-eating thing, as it had been in the past.
He didn't like the fact his sisters were doing crazy things, Savannah getting together with the 'Junkie Twins' and with a boyfriend it could have been her older brother, which unnerved him but he wasn't able to do a shit about it or things would get complicated and now Lara with the not-eating thing which was something he never understood, it wasn't as if she was fat or ugly so why would want her to do such a thing? Kat, you are not going back to bed until you tell me what's been going on. You had been screaming almost all nights so don't even think of lying to me It was the first time he showed as much care for his sister but it was better now than never.

A sigh escaped her lips. It had been a lousy lie after all and it didn't shock her much that he had not believed the whole spider story. Even if it sounded slightly believable in her mind, it had completely deceived her. Of course her brother wouldn't fall for one of those stories. Hell! It was like Lara couldn't lie to him without getting caught which annoyed her deeply. "Whatever." Lara muttered under her breath, rolling her eyes in the process obviously bothered by the fact he hadn't believed her. However what bothered her the most was that he was actually getting in her business. Orisis wasn't that type of person, he respected people's spaces so why wasn't he respecting hers? Did he really care?
Swinging her legs slightly, the brunette bit her lip before a frown appeared on her lips at his comment. He didn't want to be brother of the year. Well, that was just great. It meant that he wasn't going to care for her anytime soon which was something she needed. Her parents were gone half of the time, caught up in their careers and the closest thing she had for parents were her siblings even if they weren't the best of examples. "Starting now, I believe? Seeing as it was never your business before." Lara hissed, her brown eyes turning into a glare before she looked away, crossing her arms over her chest. His glare bothered her slightly and the brunette was just slightly concerned for herself at this moment. She knew Orisis would find out even if she had hidden it for a year.
"I wasn't ly-- Maybe I was." A tired sigh escaped her lips before she stood from her seat and took a few steps closer to her brother and near the door. "What if we talk about this in the morning?" Lara tried with her best award winning smile however it didn't seem to work. A lot of the stuff that worked on her parents didn't seem to work on her siblings and the brunette disliked the idea of not being able to play the same tricks on all her family. "Fine! I'll tell you." Lara finally said, after being silent for a few seconds. Covering up her face, she could feel her cheeks turning red and the tears in her eyes already and then, she blurted out everything. "I was raped at the age of fourteen hence why I stopped eating and I now have nightmares about. And I also got pregnant from it and had an abortion."

He sipped from his glass again wondering what to say to her. It had always been his business but he was sure she wasn't ready to talk about it back then, now she was, it had been long time and now it had come back, it was time to tell the truth It had always been He waited for her to answer not saying anything more. He had never been a guy of much words and much less a guy who tell people about himself so he understand when people didn't want to do the same and respected the fact, however if it was his sister having the trouble he will have to press if necessary and he was vey capable of that.
He saw her getting all defensive but he didn't flinch or got his eyes out off hers just waiting until she was ready to tell him, and of course she wouldn't trick him with the smile she put everyone to get what she wanted, he was beyond that. He knew something was wrong, he wanted to know, and he wouldn't go to bed until he did. Talking about it would make you sleep better He said softly. or so they say Kat And finally he got what he wanted though it wasn't what he had expected at all. He was shocked but he keep his wall up carefully waiting for her to regain her composture. Fine. He said finally. He got up of the chair taking his empty glass and went to the fridge getting milk.
Looking on the cabinets he found chocolate and started the fire placing the milk on it and adding the chocolate, when it was done he looked for cookies, ignoring her sister sitting on the table trying to stop crying and placed them on a plate and the chocolate ona mug. He walked to the table and set them in front of her, put his hand on her shoulder and smiled to her. This is going to help you sleep better, trust me He said and sat in front of her again, same expression on his face As it happens, it's been long ago and now everything is different. I can understand you can't leave past behind but no one is going to hurt you anymore Kat. He shrugged as if setting a fact and stole a cookie eating it while waiting for her to take a sip of the hot chocolate he had made.

The tension in the room was beggining to bother her and Lara wondered what he was thinking. The past was something that was never going to leave her alone, especially when she had such a horrible one. It wasn't all about her secrets, it was all about her family too. Lara had never gotten the attention she desired or everything she needed even if she didn't need it. Surely, she was spoiled before but she didn't have the need to back then and now she did. Her parents ways disgusted her, whenever they couldn't make it they thought that everything would be okay with a present. It wasn't fair, on her or her siblings either but Osiris and Savannah were older, so obviously they were used to it. On the other hand, Lara wasn't and it really got to her. Maybe it explained the way she acted. Brown eyes focused on his features for a few seconds before she sighed and shrugged. "It never seemed like it, anyway."
Maybe being defensive isn't the way to go, she thought to herself before blinking a couple of times at her brother. He was right, possibly. It made sense in her head but it wasn't something she could just blurt out to her family without the consequences. She knew that if she told him, it'd go around in the family and then hell would freeze over. That was one thing that the brunette was not looking for. "I suppose you're right." She muttered quietly, not wanting to actually admit it but she had to. He was right. The shock on his features was obvious however he did not react as she expected him to and maybe it was him. It was Osiris, that's what he did. He wasn't a person of much words anyway.
Clearing the tears away from her face, she stared at the food and drink being placed in front of her and immediatly shook her head. "I don't want it." Lara wasn't the sort of person to eat whenever she was upset, in fact, she did exactly the opposite. She didn't eat which bothered some people but she didn't care. Pushing the plate and cup away, she shook her head one more time, taking the seat that Osiris was occupying earlier. "How do you know that? It may happen. He may come after me again!" Lara told him, concern in her voice. She didn't want that to happen but it was a possibility. "I'm scared." She whispered, covering her face with her hands before looking at him, wondering what he was going to say.

He frowned when Lara rejected the chocolate and the cookies, he took them and placed them again in front of her, she was going to eat, that was going to help her. Eat He said and watched her until she decided to pick a cookie from the plate. He pushed it toward her picking one himself. He always thought Lara was rotted spoiled but he was used to it now because Savannah had been the same. They were spoiled but only Lara was always pissed and defensive, not that he cared since he always minded his own business and no one else. And when she acused him of trying to be the big brother when had never been he thought she was right.
When she told him what was wrong the first thing he thought was how he had never heard that. Being so intuitive and such he should have know what was going on but now that he knew things didn't change. Now she was freaking out about being hurt again, something that won't ever happen. It had been time ago and now things had changed she was older and could protect herself and they had moved home and things. He won't. It was time ago, now everything it's different, he won't come back again He undertand she was afraid but she had to move on even if it was difficult. I know it may be difficult but... you have to move on
It was so strange, trying to be the big brother, giving advices to his little sister and talking about such a... subject. It wasn't as if he was much better, he had sex with his own sister, someone who was younger than him, and it was his sister. He couldn't give much advices because what he did was just as wrong as what the other guy did. He wasn't much good. But he couldn't help it, he loved her, and when he said love he meant more than a sister, much more than sister, he wanted to have her and kiss her... but that wasn't the topic just now. Whoever it was, he is gone. Now eat, if you want to spend the rest of the night sleeping you should eat something He said Nightmares are product of an empty stomanch sometimes.

* all the world's a stage,
and all the men and women merely players- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Something that night just wouldn't let Savannah go to sleep, something that was troubling her deeply, something that she didn't know how to handle very well. For the past month her older brother had been ignoring her, avoiding her, ever since the day she'd woken up naked in her bed, with the biggest hangover imaginable, without any memory of the previous few days. She didn't give much thought as to what had happened that day, guessing it was just another drunken one night stand, but ever since that day... something was making Osiris act like she didn't exist and it was bothering her so much that she couldn't eat or sleep without worrying about why he'd want to avoid her. She didn't know much of anything that she'd done that would make him do that, since he'd never really been bothered much with what she did. He didn't know about all the drugs and sex she had of course, but... maybe he'd found out and that was why?
Rolling over onto her front, she tried to burry her thoughts in the sand as she snuggled her face into her favourite black pillow that she'd never be able to get to sleep without. She had to rid her head of all thoughts about the sudden... fight (if that's what you'd call it it) between her and her brother, otherwise she'd never get to sleep and she'd end up being tired and late for school in the morning, and she was failing school as it was. If she didn't get enough sleep, she wasn't going to go to school, and if she didn't go to school tomorrow, she was going to be in deep shit. She'd already missed a whole ton of school this year, and she was well on her way to suspension, or even worse, expulsion, and her family wouldn't be very happy if she was expelled or suspended. Heck, she'd be annoyed with herself too, if either of those punishments managed to fall upon her.
Suddenly the sound of two different voices floated through to her room, and so did the sound of two pairs of footsteps tapping a floor that sounded not like carpet, but like marble. She was not alerted by the four different sounds, for she knew that no burglers could get into their penthouse, not even if they tried! It was all very secure. Obviously it was going to be either both of her two siblings, or Osiris and some girl he'd picked up for the night... Not that he does that often, she thought, as she sat up in her bed. It must be both her brother and her sister, who else could it be? She slipped silently out of her bed, slipped her arms through an old shirt she'd taken from an old... friend (>.>) of hers, and quietly padded out of her room and into the kitchen to check it out. She was right, both Lara and Osirs were standing at the counter, a plate of cookies in front of them. Instead of sneaking away, she walked in and said teasingly, "Why wasn't I invited to the party?" Clearly, her brother was just as persistant as she was but Lara wasn't planning on giving in anytime soon. In fact, she was growing tired and anger was building up inside her. "I'd rather not." She spat, words dripping with venom as the brunette made no move to push the plate away nor to move overall. Lara wasn't going to give her brother the pleasure of doing something he wanted. Maybe if he had cared all the fifteen years she had lived until now, then maybe, Lara would have considered her options. However, Osiris had never gave a damn. In fact, the only person he had cared about for a short amount of time was Savannah - their other sister - and even if it hurt her, the brunette wasn't going to tell them that anytime soon. Really, having told Osiris about what had happened in the past had been the biggest mistake she had ever made.
"I don't understand." Lara began, bitter laugh escaping her lips. It clearly did not fit her mind and the youngest Rayne was growing even more angry than before. It was slowly building up inside her, cracking up all her nerves until the last one. "I don't think I want to either. Why do you care Osiris? Hm? Why? Why on earth would any of you care?" She hissed, crossing her arms over her chest, her body facing him now. Her brown eyes watched him carefully and she was getting impatient. "Well?!" She repeated, her voice slightly louder than before. Her anger was getting to her and Lara wasn't going to try and stop it when she knew it was time to blow up. Whatver would come out of her mouth, would be said and not regretted. Being known as the Rayne's little princess was a shame; Lara wish she hadn't been born at times. It was pathetic, the things she had put up with, especially her siblings. The only person who seemed to care was her mother and sometimes her grandmother whenever the latter visited. Apart from them, no-one else gave a damn.
A third voice was heard and the brunette's brown eyes turned to find Savannah, with her pathetic comments. Controling the anger inside her had been hard but Lara was mustering it. For now. "Thought you were asleep." Then her eyes turned towards her brother and Lara exploded. Inside and out. "What do you know?!" She shouted, anger was clear in her voice and the hand nearest the counter hitting the plate of cookies which flew everywhere. Soon, the shatter of glass was heard but Lara dismissed it, both eyes focused on her siblings. "You never cared! You didn't give a damn when I came home the next morning! You're a bunch of heartless people who only care about themselves. I should have never told you this! I'm so freaking stupid." Lara couldn't hold it in anymore. Certain things had to be said whether they liked it or not however she was blaming herself for something she should never feel guilty for. "We may have the same name, share the same blood and live in the same house but that does not mean I ever wanted to be your sister."

It was awkward, all things considered, being sitting with her sister in the middle of the night discussing raping. But Osiris has seen so many things he thought unbelievable and now nothing could really surprise him. The bitter accusations his sister was throwing at him, he deserved them, and after all she never knew how much he cared, inside. He had never been of someone showing how deeply he cared for things and how much he actually observed of her. He knew something was terribly wrong with her but he also knew she wanted, deep inside, to be alone to deal with it, she didn’t want to talk but she wanted to talk, she didn’t want to be forced to talk but she wanted for someone to ask, to care. She was a mess and with such spiral of sentiments inside he didn’t want to bother her. Of course, she took that side of his character the wrong way and being how he was, aggressive and sadistic brutality, total arrogant and extreme volatility of temperament, he couldn’t really blame her.
I do care, and I cared He hissed back. Because of his character, he was putting on himself a great deal of self-control right at the moment. But he had to do a great effort not to get up and walk right of the kitchen when he Savvy came in. He couldn’t even bare to look at her knowing what he had done, but there was no way of getting out of that situation without being too obvious. She was so sexy, in her underwear, just with a white shirt and her glasses… flashbacks of her all spread in the bed, naked for him, screaming his name in pure pleasure came from his memory the same second she opened her mouth. But he didn’t have the time to think about being aroused, thought he already was, because that was the moment hell broke loose. Lara started shouting and breaking things, and the short temper Osiris had went to hell too. I don’t fucking get you!! He shouted back, looking at her straight in the eyes, if there was a moment to use his penetrating eyes it was this one.
You want us to care about you!! But had you ever cared about OUR problems? And besides, we are not fucking seers!!! You wanted everyone to stay away from you, you didn’t want to talk about that, this is the first time you brought yourself to open your mouth, what did you expected?? Being the queen of the house wasn’t enough for you? You need more attention?? Well, you got this so you have to put up with shit like the rest of us. She was so pissed off, especially now because she had dared to scream to Savvy, she had dared to include her in something it was only about him. You didn’t want us but I never asked for you either. I had enough having her, I had totally enough but then you had to come, oh yes, and claim everything as yours, when I never had something in my life and you come here telling me you feel unloved and uncared, please…

* all the world's a stage,
and all the men and women merely players- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - When she entered the kitchen, she hadn't been expecting to be screamed at like that, she wasn't excepting anything like that at all, she didn't even know why her little sister was screaming at her. What had she done wrong now?! Her life was the biggest mess ever at the moment, with the drugs and alcohol addiction, Osiris avoiding her like the plague for a reason she didn't know at all, her boyfriend (who was definitely the sweetest man alive) suspecting her of fucking her best friend Jack, which she really was doing, by the way, and now her sister screeching at her like she was the devil itself? Sometimes she wanted to curl up into a ball and never go into society again. It always seemed like she fucked everyone's lives up. What the hell was wrong with her?
All she wanted to know was why her siblings were in the kitchen at such an hour and instead she got screamed at like a fucking banshee. She wanted to stomp over to Lara and slap her pretty little face off. Why the fuck was she screaming at her? All she asked was a comical question! What in God's name was wrong with that? Her amused smile slipped from her face and was replaced with a frown. She'd never truly let her anger show, like her older brother usually did, but she was sure as hell going to frown at Lara at a time as such. How could her own sister call her heartless, how could she say that she didn't even want to be their sibling, and what the fuck what she talking about?! She didn't even know what was going on in the kitchen before she'd walked in, and she was shouted at like that? What the hell was Lara's problem?
Savannah had to stop herself from growling aloud when Osiris started shouting back at their sister. God, what the hell was this families problem? They were all a bunch of savages. So far though, she agreed with everything Osiris was saying. She had her own problems too, and they were pretty badass, and whatever Osiris' problems were, they probably had something to do with him avoiding her. She didn't hadn't figured out why he was avoiding her, Goddamnit. It was only when he yelled at her that he'd never even wanted a sister in the first place did her heart break for the second time that night. How could he say that? She knew it was directed towards Lara, but it still hurt her like hell. Besides, Lara probably didn't even mean those things she said... or did she?
Everything was getting way out of hand now and someone needed to calm down the party before the speakers blew, and the only person for the job was Savannah, since she was the only one not screaming at the lops of her lungs at people... for a reason she still didn't even fucking know about. Slowly she slipped over to Osiris, standing close to him, and she took his face in her hands, forcing him to make eye contact with her, his penetrating black eyes meeting her identical but instead mesmorising ones. "Shh, Oz, shh," she hushed, knowing that this always calmed him down when he was at the peak of his anger. Without turning to look at her sister, keeping contact with her brother, she spoke to her sister.
